Thief or thieves target coin-operated washers and dryers at Pittsfield Township apartment complexes

A thief or thieves attempted to steal coins from washers and dryers at two Pittsfield Township apartment complexes on three occasions last week, police said.

The cases are believed to be related, but thus far, no arrests have been made, police said.

Two of the incidents occurred at Greenway Park apartments in the 2700 block of Golfside Road. On Jan. 10, someone attempted to steal coins from the laundry machines, but was unsuccessful, police said. On Jan. 14, someone stole coins from the washer and dryer units there, reports said.

The third incident occurred Jan. 15 at Spicetree Apartments in the 4700 block of Washtenaw Avenue, when someone attempted to break into three coin operated washer and dryers, reports said.
