By Kyle Feldscher

Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to multiple home invasions in Superior Township and Ypsilanti Township so far this week, including an incident where items were stolen after a sliding glass door was smashed.

According to deputies, the home in the 4600 block of Gotfredson Road was broken into sometime during the day Tuesday. After smashing the sliding glass door, the intruder, or intruders, stole a TV, laptop, jewelry and golf clubs.

Deputies also are investigating two break-ins in Ypsilanti Township reported on Saturday and Sunday.

A home reportedly was broken into in the 1300 block of Nash Avenue during the afternoon Saturday. Deputies said someone entered the home through a basement window and stole a Nintendo Wii.

On Sunday, a daytime home invasion was reported in the 800 block of Desoto Avenue. The rear door to the home was kicked in and a purse, numerous watches, cash and rings were reported stolen.

There are no suspects in any of the incidents and deputies continue to investigate.

Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office anonymous tip line at 734-973-7711 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP (773-2587).

Noticed a get tough on crime and criminals comment here. Great idea! Don't forget it when it comes time to vote. The biggest road block to getting the B&E problem under control are Washtenaw County voters. YOU keep on voting the same liberal, weak on crime politicians into office...and YOU expect different results! A2 seems over-run with street people, panhandlers, and assorted drifters. The reason: YOU put up with it.

The main reasons those homeless people are in town: 1. Churches feed them. 2. Other towns/cities and hospitals send them here via bus or cab. Once here, see #1

Building a giant wall around West Willow and Macarthur Blvd would take care of the problem.

Something really needs to be done about the sky-rocketing amount of crime in Washtenaw county. Get real about sentencing criminals and start clearing out all the degenerate drifters flocking here from all over the state.
