Two arrested, another being sought in attempted burglary, Ypsilanti police say

By Lee Higgins

Two men were arrested and a third is being sought after an attempted home invasion Wednesday in the 800 block of Cornell Road, an Ypsilanti police news release said.

A woman called police at about 1:30 p.m. to report a man attempted to kick in her door, then got into a vehicle with two other men, according to the release.

Officers located the vehicle, and the driver led them on a pursuit that ended in the 700 block of University Court, where the men got out and ran, the release said.

The vehicle contained stolen property from a burglary in the 1600 block of Laurel Bay Drive in Ypsilanti Township; that break-in had not yet been reported, according to the release. The victim of that break-in came to the police station and identified her property.

The men under arrest are ages 18 and 19, the release said.

No information was provided on the man being sought.
