Gas station break-in results in $10,000 worth of stolen goods
The Ann Arbor Police Department reported two individuals broke in to the Mobil gas station at 3267 S. State St., some time during the night on Saturday.
The break-in was called in Sunday morning, and police currently are reviewing video of the incident, according to Sgt. Matt Lige. They have no description of any suspects at this time.
Lige said the two entered the gas station by breaking the glass door. They then spent 30 minutes inside and left with merchandise totaling around $10,000.
They left in an unknown direction and there are no suspects at this time, said Lige.

Only someone knowing the place doesn't have a alarm would spend 1/2 hour in the building. Inside job?

If everything was stolen, I expect that there's a CLOSED sign on the door.

Um. Just a note to newbie blog reporters, some states/ municipalities have a official or understood rule about disclosing dollars amounts in crimes, especially bank robberies. "Thieves escaped with an undisclosed amount..." There is a reason for this reticence, and even if you are allowed to state this is Michigan (I believe you are)--- just because you CAN do something, does not mean you SHOULD.

$10k worth of stolen goods?!?! I don't see how 2 individuals could steal 10 grand worth of items from a gas station. What could possibly be that valuable in a gas station?!

I don't know about more police but a working alarm might have shortened their stay. That's a lot of equipment. I hope they are caught, and soon.

I can hear it now. We need more police. Maybe park a cop on each corner 24 hours a day. This might work. They can catch speeders, those running stop signs and maybe ticket run down vehicles at the same time.

tdw, excellent point and good for you for pointing this out. Citizens of A2: beware of strangers trying to sell you stuff, it could be "hot"!

I doubt that these guys want the items taken, everyone should keep their ears and eyes open for good sales. Hopefully they are caught soon, although it doesen't take long to get out of the county or state.

Did they get 100 gallons of fuel or something? 'Cause we all know that Ann Arbor has the highest fuel prices in the state!
