Two stabbed in parking lot at 7-Eleven in Ypsilanti Township

By Lee Higgins

Investigators are looking for a 31-year-old man they said stabbed a man and woman early this morning during a fight in a 7-Eleven store parking lot at Hewitt and Ellsworth roads in Ypsilanti Township.

The two victims, both 31 and from Ypsilanti, sustained non life-threatening injuries in the stabbing, which occurred about 12:50 a.m., Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Tom Pennington said.

Deputies responded to a fight involving five to six people, and, when they arrived on scene, saw a vehicle leaving the area, Pennington said. Officers followed the vehicle to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Superior Township, finding the two victims inside.

Pennington said it's unclear what prompted the fight. The victims know the suspect, he said. Pennington said he did not know what was used to stab the victims.

Anyone with information can call the department's tip line at 734) 973-7711.

Sad ! These are not kids, they are all 31 yrs. of age. Nothing good happens after 11:p.m. I guess I will never understand why these small chain stores have to be open 24/7. The parking lots are usally a place to hang out. (and then the trouble starts)

Small Chain Store ??? 7-11 is one of the largest chain stores in the world and they make a mint serving customers 24/7. Perhaps rather, the root problem is the uneducated, immature adults having a difficult time coping with the world and resorting to violence to solve their issues. Attempted murder is hardly an after 11pm problem.

Because some of us go to work at 4AM and some of us get done with work at 2AM. Why should us hard working people be punished by thugs. We should never let them win by closing stores in fear. I'm assuming your a liberal, your logic is backwards.

Doesn't matter whether it's Ypsi Township, Detroit, or Ann Arbor. They're all the same. Violence, mayhem and chaos have no boudaries.

Ummm....there is a rising level of violence EVERYWHERE. A2.com just reported on three to four break-ins in SALINE last week. And so, did you make the same comment on that story? Probably not, uh.

All I can say is that if it was me or my loved one being attacked, you would know who the 31 year old suspect is because he would still be in that parking lot......assuming existing temperature.

Billy it's like crossing the street, not everyone is capable. See the story about A2crosswalk hawks. I mean who would have thought we could no longer make it safely across the street without lights.
