U-M police arrest man accused of exposing himself to hospital employee

By Kyle Feldscher

A 24-year-old man was arrested at the University of Michigan Hospital early Monday after police said he exposed himself to an employee in a hallway.

The female staffer told police that the man exposed himself to her as he walked past her in a hallway, according to the U-M Department of Public Safety’s daily log. Police responded at about 1:42 a.m. Monday to the hospital, 1500 East Medical Center Drive and found and arrested the suspect, according to police spokeswoman Diane Brown.

The suspect is a 24-year-old Ypsilanti resident, Brown said.

Brown said the woman was sitting on a bench in a hallway and the man was walking past her. Brown said the man lifted his shirt and exposed himself to her and kept walking.

Brown said police have no reason to believe the man was a patient at the hospital and there was no indication that the man was intoxicated.

The man has been processed and released and police have submitted the case to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office for a warrant authorization, according to police.

I love the comments on this e-paper. No, not everyone knows where the U of M Hospital is and when the stumble across it they quickly forget it because of the turmoil going on around it. News is news whether you agree or not to your evaluation of it's quality. It's local it does interest others. Sounds like you want to start your own e-paper? The guy did deed and was caught that's a pat on the back for a job well done. The victim kept her head and properly id the guy. Good job folk!

Perhaps this happened but is there any more evidence than he said/she said? Is there any surveillance camera evidence, a witness, was he found in a state of undress? If not, it is hardly worth the time of the prosecutors and it is hardly newsworthy. Why is it necessary to identify him as from Ypsilanti. As if future potential victims will be able to avoid men who look like they are from Ypsilanti. The tidbit just makes the story a slander on Ypsilanti (how about "local resident").

It's an Ann Arbor paper and he's from a neighboring city. Local resident means Ann Arbor.

Many young men like to wear their pants around their knees. Maybe this is all a generational misunderstanding?

Let's see: pediatricians who perve out; flashers in the hospital hallway; school administrators getting tons of money; taxis that aren't really taxis; etc., etc., etc. Can we please have some non-salacious article now and again? This is a pretty puny excuse for news. We'll probably have 93 comments on it. STOP! DON'T COMMENT ON THIS STORY!

You forgot the folks that loaded the atm onto a dolly, took it outside, and then forgot to take it.

"Brown said the man lifted his shirt and exposed himself to her and kept walking. " Umm am I missing something here? He exposed his belly, or perhaps a nipple or two?

Probably hanging his pants down below his rear gangbang style. Disgusting style of dress even with underwear beneath.

I was thinking at first maybe his hospital gown flew up, but actually, I can see how he could, uh, conceal something, with a long shirt. Don't men's pants have zippers. Or am I being too graphic?
