Woman arrested after allegedly hitting boyfriend, sending him to hospital

By Kyle Feldscher

A 48-year-old Ann Arbor woman was arrested Sunday morning after hitting her 53-year-old boyfriend with a sharp object, sending him to the hospital.

Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush said the couple was arguing inside of a vehicle at 10:53 p.m. Saturday in the 2100 block of Champagne Drive. During the argument, the woman allegedly hit him in the shoulder with a sharp object and then left the area.

Police responded and the man was taken to the University of Michigan Hospital to be treated for his injury.

Officers arrested the woman at 1:30 a.m. Sunday and she was taken to the Washtenaw County Jail to await charges.

The department’s detective bureau continues to investigate the case.

@Westfringe, from the article "The Ann Arbor couple accused of stabbing a neighbor in early September will return to court later this month, records show." So no, they're NOT from the D.

She was on the loose and at large with a sharp object for two and a half hours? Thank goodness the dogs were locked up

Isn't that more "stabbing" rather than "hitting"? Though, I suppose, she could have hit him with the handle of (say) an ice pick. (Does anyone have ice picks anymore?)

I stab squirrels with my ice pick, but other than that it gets little to no use.

Ice picks work on a lot of things beside ice. Mine is a handy awl.

Is it a coincidence that it's a stone's throw from where they found evidence of shots being fired? At least according to the maps posted in both stories.
