@Ann, That won't stop you from being mugged at the front door instead of your door nor stop push in robberies. Not to mention it would require everyone in the building to NOT let people in with them. How much do you trust your neighbors to do that? No thanks! I won't rely on others for my safety. You should not either. 1*

How about requiring a key to get into the appropriate building for your apartment, not just a key to get into your apartment itself? I know of one such apartment complex in northeastern Ypsilanti. Back in 1983, no keys were needed to get into any particular building to visit a tenant, but since 1999, such keys are needed to get into the buildings themselves.

Is it me or is there a trend emerging here with all these robberies? So many are reported here in the crime section lately and I have been trying to figure out what one has in common with others and what not to see if they are the same guy. There are so many similarities in them it is remarkable.

If that armed robber ever drinks and drives in Pittsfield Township or one of the neighboring communities, then those cops will be all over him like flies on sh*t. Otherwise, he'll never have any contact with the police because they're only interested in easy arrests. It's amazing how much money we waste on local police.

Sounds like tha party was an (over-nighter). Glad the victim was not injured. Not every officer was minding the streets for drunk drivers. It seems like the the officer got to the victim in a time-ly manner. We certainly have more offenders than police officers. I can't comment on the complex, have never been there. Don't plan to go there anytime soon either.

Good thing there is extra DUI enforcement (at the officer's discretion). For every moderately drunk driver, there are are 10 of these morons. Of course arresting a violent criminal yields no profit.

In case anyone is missing the point. Cameras will do a great job of recording your assualt or death. Not so great at preventing or stipping a determined attacker. Situational awareness and being prepared will do more for YOU RIGHT NOW. 1*

Spicetree hasnt changed since I lived there back in 88. Apparently it never will. The crime rate was what made me move out of there in 90

Right cameras would fix the problem. After all they've been doing a bang up job of preventing crimes at the mall... Oh wait I meant the party store... Oh wait I mean the banks... Umm right never mind just install the cameras that'll fix it.

Yet another armed robbery in the area. This time inside an apartment complex. I don't know what the security issues are for this complex, but nevertheless, it's a grim situation for the resident. Even complexes with reasonable security (locked outside doors, etc) have difficulty with enforcement. Robbers can follow a tenant entering the building and get in easily posing as residents. Bad situation, though, regardless of how the robber entered the building. Installing security cameras would help all apartment complexes.

I think it time for me to leave this city. I'm tired of hearing about all the robberies.
