Woman scares off man attempting to break into her Ann Arbor home

A man who attempted to break into a home Tuesday morning in the 2200 block of Dexter Avenue was scared off when a woman inside turned on the lights, Ann Arbor police said.

The 22-year-old woman woke up at 4:50 a.m. to find the man attempting to pry open a window, police spokeswoman Lt. Renee Bush said.

The woman turned the lights on and off, prompting the man to leave the area, police said. A detailed description of the man was not available.

My husband interrupted an attempted robbery from our front porch in the 1800 block of Dexter Ave on September 25. Two attempted robberies/break-ins in one week on the same road - wonder if they're related?

I bet she wished she had something a bit more substantial than a light switch especially if they didn't run away...
