Ypsilanti police investigate burglary on Harriet Street

Ypsilanti police are investigating a burglary reported Sunday afternoon in the 500 block of Harriet Street.

A woman returned to her apartment about 1 p.m. to find the door had been kicked in and a laptop computer and video game system were stolen, a crime summary said.

The woman had been gone for an hour. Police do not have any suspects. Anyone with information can call police at (734) 483-9510.

Locks only keep honest people honest. If they want it they will get in.

This just goes to show, doesn't matter if the doors are locked or un-locked, whether you are home or not, idiots out there are going to get what they want. Breaking glass, kicked in doors make for more loss. (replaceing doors and windows are not cheap) No good answers here. At least there were no injurys in the last 2 break-ins.
