Ypsilanti police investigate car theft at Washtenaw Road gas station

By Lee Higgins

A man walked out of a convenience store at a BP gas station on Washtenaw Avenue Thursday to discover his car had been stolen, an Ypsilanti police incident log said.

The man left his car running about 7:37 a.m. as he went inside the store in the road's 1600 block for two minutes to buy some cigarettes.

Police are looking for a 1998 four-door green Saturn with Michigan plate BWF2970.

Anyone with information can call police at 734-483-9510.

When my car was stolen the wrecker found it the next day. It was parked illegally and they towed it in. The police called me the next day and told me where I could pick it up. I don't think there is an investigation going on.
