Ypsilanti police investigate purse-snatching
Ypsilanti police are investigating a purse-snatching Tuesday night near the intersection of West Michigan Avenue and West Ainsworth Street, a police media summary said.
According to the summary, a 46-year-old woman reported the theft Wednesday morning.
By the time she got to the police station, Ypsilanti police had the purse because a man turned it in that morning after finding it in the West Willow neighborhood in Ypsilanti Township, police said.
A credit card, cell phone and other items were missing, the summary said. Police did not have a detailed description of the thief.

Isn't this right in front of the Ypsilanti PD?? I know the Ypsi PD has reinstated a beat cop to patrol Depot Town and surrounding areas, but that area could definitely use a beat cop's presence as well.
