Cars stolen from Ypsilanti man and his wife
An Ypsilanti couple fell victim to two car thefts in one week.
First, the husband's car was swiped outside a gas station last week when it was left running with the keys inside.
The keychain had keys to the wife's car, which was then stolen out of their North Congress Street driveway between Monday night and Tuesday morning.
Police recovered the wife's Ford Focus Tuesday, but are still looking for the husband's Saturn.
Sgt. Kevin Dorsey said said the thefts appear to be related.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested in Ypsilanti Township Tuesday after he was found inside the Focus, Ypsilanti police said.
The 1998 four-door green Saturn was left running at a BP gas station on Washtenaw Avenue about 7:37 a.m. Oct. 8 as the man went inside to buy cigarettes.
The Saturn has Michigan plate BWF2970.
Anyone with information can call police at 734-483-9510.

Why "Cars stolen from Ypsilanti man and his wife?" Couldn't this headline just as easily have been "Cars stolen from Ypsilanti woman and her husband?" Or "Cars Stolen from Ypsilanti Couple?"

Every time I see someone leave their car running outside a gas station or convenience store I really want to just hop in and move it to the other side of the lot to teach them a lesson. It's completely moronic.

An argument against keeping all of your keys on a single ring. Well, that and not leaving your car running at the gas station.
