The police sketch.

Ypsilanti police released a sketch of a man they say robbed a pizza delivery driver at gunpoint on March 4 in the 300 block of South Prospect Street.

According to police, the driver was making a delivery in the 300 block of South Prospect Street at about 8 p.m. when a man approached, pretending he was going to pay for the food.

The man then pulled a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money, police said. The Happy's Pizza driver handed over cash and a cell phone, police said.

According to a wanted poster, the robber was described as black, stocky, between 5 feet, 9 inches and 5 feet, 11 inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information can call Ypsilanti police Det. Jason Cyrbok at (734) 482-9872.

There ARE jobs out here in the county, to many are just not qualified. I would like to hire someone for yardwork, house cleaning, power washing decks, porches ect. But who can you trust anymore?

The robber doesn't sound like a very friendly person. It says that the robber took cash and a cell phone but what about the pizza? How did the robber get away? Taxi, a car or maybe he walked?

There are no jobs? That's completely incorrect. There are jobs, but people that commit crimes like this are either too lazy or too ignorant to find them. I sure hope Annarbor.com doesn't delete my comment because I said people who rob pizza delivery drivers are ignorant. Sorry, but anyone that thinks it's a good idea to rob a pizza boy is dumber than a pile of stupid rocks. That is all.

To RJA good comment but there are no jobs.

Jobs are currently available, but they all require people to show up on time, sober, and to refrain from stealing stock from the employer. Some people can't meet that job description.

I agree with Ricebrnr. There are jobs, some people are just too proud to take them, feel like the job is beneath them. So instead of taking what they can get and working their way up to something better, they just resort to stealing.

I disagree. There are jobs. They question is IF one is willing to do them, even several if one does not pay enough. For some the easier choice is to take rather than to work.

As I read this, the suspect is between 5ft. 9in. and 5ft. 11 inches tall. It is sad that Pizza delivery people continue to be robbed. It is a must that they carry a cell phone now days. Most drivers just carry enough money on their person to make change. Perhaps 10 singles, and a couple dollars in change. Soooooo, suspects (keep this in mind). Is it worth spending jail time? Or injuring the next driver worth Prison time? Get a life, get a job! Great sketch Ypsilanti Police!

How can he be both 5'9" AND 5'11" tall? Just askin'...

@TF my guess is that the victim said that the suspect was between 5'9 and 5'11 (with means they could be 5'9, 5'10 or 5'11 and any fraction therein). I dont think that police or the press should be "guessing" on a description of a suspect.

jjc, why don't they just say 5' 10" instead of offering the two choices of 5'9" and 5'11" ?

Bear, not sure if it has been changed between when you read the story and I read the story but it says "between 5'9 and 5'11"
