Deputies investigate armed robbery in Ypsilanti Township

By Lee Higgins

Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Wednesday morning in the 2500 block of International Drive in Ypsilanti Township.

A woman was scraping ice off the windows on her car when a man, who was armed with a handgun, walked up behind her, a sheriff's department incident summary said. He demanded money, then left in a car toward Golfside Road at about 8:05 a.m., the summary said.

He was described as a light-skinned black male, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, in his mid-20s and clean shaven, the summary said. He was wearing a tan jacket, black-hooded sweatshirt and baseball cap with a gray bill, the log said.

His car is described as a late 1980s Oldsmobile with a silver stripe on the driver's side door, the summary said.

I hope any of you that read this and have any leads call the police. I beg you, I am the woman this incident refers to. Anyone that will hold a gun to someone's head and is brazen enough to do it in broad daylight needs to be behind bars.
