Deputies investigate attempted robbery in Ypsilanti Township

By Lee Higgins

A man was assaulted during an attempted robbery on International Drive in Ypsilanti Township Monday night, Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies said.

The victim suffered minor injuries during the 11 p.m. assault, a sheriff's department incident summary said.

The victim told police he was approached by a man who demanded money. But the victim didn't immediately understand what the man wanted because of a language barrier, the summary said.

A detailed description of the assailant was not available.
