Deputies investigate two unarmed robberies in Ypsilanti Township
Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies are investigating two unarmed robberies Monday night in Ypsilanti Township.
About 8:10 p.m., a woman was struck in the head by an unknown object, and her bag was taken near South Ford Boulevard and Parkwood Avenue, a sheriff's department incident summary said.
She suffered minor injuries in the attack, which occurred shortly after she got off a bus. A laptop computer, purse and cell phone were in the bag.
The victim was not able to give deputies a description of the attacker.
About 8:40 p.m., a woman got into her car outside an Ellsworth Road store, and a man reached inside and grabbed her purse from the passenger seat, the summary said.
She wasn't injured. The man was described as black, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, 150 pounds, clean-shaven, wearing a black knit hat and a sweater with blue and white stripes.
Anyone with information on the robberies is asked to call the sheriff's tip line at 734-973-7711.
