Detectives arrest man who ran from 14B District Court in Ypsilanti Township

By Lee Higgins

Washtenaw County sheriff's detectives caught a man who ran from 14B District Court in Ypsilanti Township on Oct. 20 after he was sentenced to jail, authorities said.

Robert Taylor Brown, 19, was arrested at about 11 a.m. today at a home in the 1700 block of Lynn Court in Ypsilanti Township after detectives received a tip.

Brown ran out of a courtroom and the building after a judge sentenced him to 93 days for assault and battery, authorities said.

Brown was arraigned today on an escape charge and is being held at Washtenaw County jail without bail. If convicted, he faces up to two years in prison.

At least Brown will get to know the difference between a misdemeanor (which is what he was convicted of) and a felony (which he is now facing). If you can't do the time don't do the crime
