Dexter Township installs 16 disaster warning sirens

By Amy Biolchini

Workers began installing 16 disaster warning sirens Friday in Dexter Township to help warn residents of natural disasters and emergencies, the Dexter Patch reported.

The $370,000 project will be completed by mid-week and will ensure 100 percent of the township’s residents can hear the sirens, according to the report.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Emergency Warning system can be linked to the sirens, which also are capable of broadcasting programmed announcements.
