Dexter's Warrior Creek Park closed today through the summer

By Lisa Allmendinger

Warrior Creek Park in Dexter closed today for the reminder of the summer so a trail can be constructed.

The park, located behind the Dexter Area Fire Department station on Main Street, will be part of a trail and bridge connection along the Mill Creek.

The village announcement states a connection will also be made to the Westridge subdivision.

Next year, the trail will be connected to the Hudson Mills Metropark trail along the Huron River. In addition, a stairway connecting Warrior Creek Park to Alpine Street will also be completed this summer.

These projects were made possible through a partnership between the the village, Washtenaw County Parks, the Washtenaw County Road Commission and the Huron Clinton Metropolitan Authority.

Too bad we take our grandchildren there often. I saw it was stated off. Hard to believe it will take all summer. Would like to know if the bridge for the trail is going under the railroad bridge.
