Expect single lanes and delays crossing Mast Road Bridge outside Dexter Village beginning Monday
Construction on the Mast Road Bridge over the Huron River in Webster Township is expected to begin Monday and will restrict the bridge to one lane for traffic.
A temporary signal will be set up at each end of the bridge to allow intermittent traffic in each direction.
The bridge is located just outside the Village of Dexter.
The Washtenaw County Road Commission and its general contractor Davis Construction Co. of Lansing will replace the deck joints and perform concrete deck patching, beam repairs and concrete pier patching during this $425,000 project.
In addition, the asphalt road approaches will be removed and replaced.
This single-lane traffic pattern will continue through early August, according to a press release from the Road Commission.
After the completion of the first stage, it’s expected that there will be enough width on the bridge for two lanes of traffic for the remainder of the project, which is scheduled for completion in early September.
