The Dexter Area Historical Society has developed a master plan for the restoration of Gordon Hall, the Dexter Leader reports, but it's not yet ready to release it to the public.

The plan will help the society apply for grant money toward the more than $3 million that will be needed to restore the home, Paul Bishop, a member of the historical society, told the newspaper.

The society purchased the historic home, built by Village of Dexter founder Judge Samuel Dexter, in 2006 for $1.5 million from the University of Michigan.

It's a shame they had to build the fugly senior housing development right in the same yard as the mansion. It detracts heavily from Gordon Hall and could have easily been camouflaged better. ugh
