By Lisa Allmendinger

Dick Lundy and Julie Schumaker, the two incumbents, prevailed in the Dexter school board race in which four candidates ran for two open seats.

Schumaker was the top vote-getter with 1,453 votes, while Lundy received 1,308 votes. They were challenged by Shawn Letwin and Amy Luczak, who received 488 votes and 599 votes, respectively, according to unofficial totals.

Lundy, 69, has served eight terms, or 32 years, as a school board member in Dexter, including board vice president from 1979-83 and treasurer from 1983 to the present.

Schumaker, 54, was first elected to the school board in 2003 and has served as a trustee for the last eight years.
