Two lanes of Division Street to close for several hours Wednesday

By Juliana Keeping

Two lanes of Division Street between Liberty and Willam streets will close for several hours Wednesday in Ann Arbor so crews can work on the underground parking structure on the Library Lot.

Christman Constructors will pour concrete for one of the decks, said Andrew Holman, a project engineer with the company.

The closure will be in effect from 8 a.m. into the early evening, Holman said.

The 700-space $50 million underground parking structure managed by Christman Co. under the direction of the Ann Arbor Downtown Development Authority. The site is located between Fifth Avenue and Division Street, south of Liberty.

I hope they get this wrapped up soon. Folly, boondoggle, whatever; I just want it DONE!

The city should send Christman a bill for all the meters they've bagged on all the other streets too.

Since there are only two open lanes (on a good day), isn't that actually a complete "closure" of the street for the better part of a day? The Follay continues.

They've been back to three lanes for a couple weeks now. You obviously have no idea what you're talking about.
