Downed wire causes power outage on south side of Ann Arbor; second outage reported
Power is expected to be restored to about 800 customers without it on the south side of Ann Arbor by about 6 or 6:30 p.m. today, a DTE Energy spokesman said.
The power went off about noon, when a tree fell on a line and knocked it down, said DTE spokesman Alejandro Bodipo-Memba. Lights flickered in downtown Ann Arbor about the same time.
The area affected is bordered roughly by I-94 to the north, Stone School Road to the east, the railroad tracks to the east and Morgan Road to the south.
Another outage is affecting about 80 customers northwest of Dexter near the Pinckney State Recreation area. Bodipo-Memba said those customers should also have power back by 6 or 6:30. He did not know what caused that outage.
