Driver crashes into retaining wall at Weber's Inn in Ann Arbor
A woman suffered facial injuries and was taken to the hospital after her car crashed into a retaining wall at Weber’s Inn on the west side of Ann Arbor Friday.
Ann Arbor Fire Department Battalion Chief Robert Vogel said the woman was driving a Chevrolet Cavalier in the parking lot of the hotel at 3050 Jackson Road when she crashed into the barrier about 3 p.m. The impact activated the car’s airbag, Vogel said.
The driver was a 21-year-old woman from Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor police said. It's not yet clear what caused the accident.
Firefighters and HVA paramedics treated the woman at the scene and paramedics took her to the University of Michigan Hospital.
The vehicle was heavily damaged and was leaking fluid, Vogel said. The retaining wall had minor damage, he said.

It may have been a medical problem... We will never know, as this will not have a follow up.

Yes, maybe epilepsy or another medical emergency. Regardless, someone was hurt and seriously injured and people make jokes or assume fault but nobody expresses concern. Disgusting - this is why there is no concern about the thirty million people who would lose insurance if ObamaCare is overturned.

Texting or jabbering on cellphone....... which? Glad she reached her competency level as a vehicle operator (note I did not say "driver") in a parking lot and not out on public roadways. And no mention of the usual diatribe found in vehicular accident reporting: "alcohol and speed"

I bet she was texting while getting ready to leave the lot and of course was not paying attention.

Wait she didn't even screw up on the double lane going west on Jackson road? This was in the parking lot? Sounds hard to do! *waits for BAC reading*

Parking lots are extremely difficult to navigate. I usually crash into 2-3 cars on an average trip to Meijer.

Sense of humor when someone is hospitalized with serious injuries? Gee, how about cancer, heart attack, loss of limb, some deadly disease?
