A woman suffered facial injuries and was taken to the hospital after her car crashed into a retaining wall at Weber’s Inn on the west side of Ann Arbor Friday.

Ann Arbor Fire Department Battalion Chief Robert Vogel said the woman was driving a Chevrolet Cavalier in the parking lot of the hotel at 3050 Jackson Road when she crashed into the barrier about 3 p.m. The impact activated the car’s airbag, Vogel said.

The driver was a 21-year-old woman from Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor police said. It's not yet clear what caused the accident.

Firefighters and HVA paramedics treated the woman at the scene and paramedics took her to the University of Michigan Hospital.

The vehicle was heavily damaged and was leaking fluid, Vogel said. The retaining wall had minor damage, he said.
