Early morning fire destroys vacant house in Ypsilanti

By Steve Pepple

An overnight fire destroyed a vacant two-story house on LeForge Road in Ypsilanti, city firefighters said.

No one was injured in the blaze, which was reported at 5:38 a.m. today, fire Capt. Max Anthouard said.

Anthouard said firefighters from Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor and Superior Township spent nearly four hours extinguishing the fire. The large, two-story, wood-frame house was destroyed, he said.

The house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. The cause has not been determined and a fire investigator was at the scene this morning.
