Update: Earthquake in Virginia felt in Ann Arbor

Here at AnnArbor.com we felt some significant movement of our building at 301 E. Liberty St. downtown shortly before 2 p.m today.

Early reports indicate the tremors may be related to an earthquake near Washington D.C. We are working to confirm reports, but meanwhile, check out what people are saying across Twitter about the earthquake.

I felt absolutely nothing in my house near Cobblestone Farm. My dogs didn't react either. The fact is, I think we all need to re-connect our collective synapses and recognize that this is no big deal. Eatherquakes of this size happen all over the world every year. The over-reaction to this event is nothing short of amazing. Just because something is rare doesn't make it important.

Not at all, was in my basement office working. Co-workers in Baltimore, Harrisburg PA, Pittsburgh,Phillipsburgh NJ, and elsewhere east of us felt it big time.
