Eastern Michigan University police arrest 3 teens in attempted robbery
Three Ypsilanti teenagers are accused of punching a resident adviser and attempting to rob him outside a dorm on Eastern Michigan University's campus Thursday night.
The teens were arrested a short time later.
EMU Police Chief Greg O'Dell said the 22-year-old resident adviser was outside Putnam Residence Hall at about 11 p.m. when three men approached and demanded money.
The victim told them he didn't have any money, and one of the would-be robbers grabbed him and punched him, O'Dell said. The three men left empty-handed since the victim didn't have any cash on him.
The victim was able to provide officers with a detailed description of the robbers, and officers found them near campus, O'Dell said.
The teens were arrested and are expected to be arraigned today on charges of attempted unarmed robbery. The victim refused medical attention, O'Dell said.

OK, I've got to go with Amalie on this one. I don't want this kind of crap on campus this Fall. Actually, I hope security is tight from now on.

maeqFREEDOMfree, It is the prosecutor that decides what to charge a person with, not the "cops".

charges of armed robbery?? What were they armed with? Don't get me wrong, thievery is a lowly activity, but trumped up charges from cops really gets to me.

It appears the R.A. was mistaken. The three teens were actually just trying to have questions answered about the university they had planned to attend... Maybe part of the 779k alllocated to the MPRI can help them when they finnish their prison/Jail sentences.
