The Early College Allliance held its 2010 graduation ceremonies June 9th at the Eastern Michigan University Student Center. The class had 45 graduates.

Activities and awards: Jonathan won multiple awards in the Southeast Michigan Science Fairs in his freshman through junior years. He was a National Finalist in Chemistry Olympiad in his junior year and inducted into the National Honor Society. He is proficient in both Latin and Chinese. Jonathan spent his junior and senior years taking courses full-time at EMU with a current GPA of 3.9. During the intervening summer, he was awarded the Elliot Scholarship to study Physics at Carnegie Mellon. He has been employed as an EMU Math Lab Tutor, and taught Chinese as a Supplemental Instructor for the university. His extracurricular activities included volunteering in law enforcement, maintaining the Huron Valley section of the American Chemistry Society’s website and working as the Assistant Webmaster for Another Ann Arbor.

Plans after graduation: Jonathan will be pursuing mechatronics, bio-medical, or chemical engineering at MIT.
