Willow Run High School Top Scholars
Willow Run High School held its 2010 graduation ceremonies May 28 in the high school auditorium. The class had 73 graduates.
Trevor Gregg
Activities and awards: Trevor was a three year member of the Varsity Cross Country Team; a four year member of the Varsity Baseball Team; and a four year member of the Marching Band with position of drum major his senior year.
Plans after graduation: Trevor will be attending the Honors College at Eastern Michigan University majoring in music education with plans to participate in the Marching Band.
Daviana Kay Gustafson
Activities and awards: Daviana was president of the National Honor Society, a member of the National Society of High School Scholars and the Film Club. She was captain of the Varsity Swimming and Softball teams. Daviana received the Plaque of Achievement for Ypsilanti Leadership and an Honor Award for participation and support during St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital fundraiser. She has received the Certificate of Achievement for GPA of 3.0-4.0 for four years, the Certificate of Achievement for Outstanding participation and Successful Program Completion of GENESIS II Project EnAct, and numerous other awards throughout her four years.
Plans after graduation: Daviana plans to attend Central Michigan University majoring in biomedical with a minor in theater for acting. She hopes to go on to medical school to become a doctor in genetics.
Thomas Hoffman
Activities and awards: Thomas has been involved in the Foreign Language Club, Film Club; and writing. He won 3rd place in school spelling bee; several academic awards; best actor award at the Ypsilanti Teen Film Festival; and most improved player in the Willow Run Soccer Club 2008. Thomas has received an academic scholarship from BGSU. He was also crowned homecoming king.
Plans after graduation: Thomas will be attending Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio majoring in film production and minor in creative writing to pursue a filmmaking career.
David Martin
Activities and awards: David is a member of Ypsilanti Assembly of God’s Youth Group (vertical shift) and worship team. He participated in the Willow Run High School Marching Band; FRC team 66; and was part of the Drama Club. In 2009, David was named the DAR Good Citizen of Willow Run High School 2010 and received academic excellence for having a 4.0 from 9th to 11th grade and in 2009 was awarded with the Biologist Award.
Plans after graduation: David will be going to the University of Toledo to study biology and/or civil engineering along with independently working toward a Christian Ministry degree.
