Ypsilanti Courier: As part of efforts to lift performance, Ypsilanti High School plans to split students into two focused academies

Ypsilanti High School will have a new look by the start of the next school year, with students split into two different academies within the high school building, according to a report in The Ypsilanti Courier.

According to the report, the school will consist of the Global Leadership and Public Policy Academy and the Improv Academy.

The redesign plan has already been approved by the state and must be in place by Sept. 6, according to the report. The plan is part of the effort to remove YHS from the state’s list of the lowest performing 5 percent of high schools in the state.
