are co-sponsoring a viewing of the film, Family in Captivity, a documentary about the Shalit family whose son, Gilad, will mark his fifth anniversary as a prisoner of Hamas on June 25th. The film, which will be shown at the Jewish Community Center on Birch Hollow Drive at 7:30 PM on Thursday, June 23, is being shown in Jewish communities across North America to honor Gilad Shalit and educate the public about his situation. Directed by Tal Goren, the film is an intimate story that follows the day to day efforts of the Shalit family to cope and bring Gilad home. Through their story, we exit the political realm and see the human angle of this difficult ordeal. This heartbreaking story gives unprecedented access to the Shalit family and shows how these private and anonymous individuals rise to become national symbols. Tickets are $10 per person and proceeds from the film will benefit Free Gilad Shalit initiatives. For more information, contact Mimi Weisberg at mimiweisberg@jccfed.org.
