Father Gabriel Richard High School Top Scholars

Father Gabriel Richard High School held its 2013 graduation ceremonies May 24, 6:30 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. The class includes 138 graduates.

Kelly Bindon
Parents: Michael and Suzanne Bindon
Activities and Awards: Kelly was a member of the National Honor Society and a four-year member of women's varsity track and field. She received the Richard's Runner leadership award for track her sophomore year and the Fighting Irish MVP award her junior year. She is senior captain this track season.
Plans After Graduation: Kelly be attending the University of Michigan.

Ruthie Blower
Parents: Dawn Massie and Daniel Blower
Activities and Awards: Ruthie was a National Merit Finalist and a member of National Honors Society. She volunteers at St. John the Baptist Parish in Ypsilanti, tutoring kids through the Schola Atrium Program, and dances at Randazzo Dance.
Plans After Graduation: Ruthie will attend St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. She is undecided as to her major or future career plans but is considering biology.

Niki Dirksen
Parents: Bill and Ehren Dirksen
Activities and Awards: Niki was on the Executive Board of the National Honor Society, Class Rep in Student Government, a National Merit Finalist, Scholarship Winner & an AP Scholar. She participated in Varsity Volleyball, voted Captain her senior year, Varsity Soccer, earning All-State Honors, & Varsity Tennis. She volunteered on local and international mission trips.
Plans After Graduation: Niki will be attending the University of Notre Dame in the fall, majoring in business.

Gabrielle Gaeta
Parents: Sebastian and Narmeen Gaeta
Activities and Awards: Gabrielle will graduate as Valedictorian and she is also a National Merit Finalist. She is a classically trained ballerina and was also a captain of FGR's Varsity Dance Team. She served as Class President during her senior year and held various other leadership positions on Student Council. She has also volunteered as a tutor for K-8 students at St. Francis of Assisi.
Plans After Graduation: Next year, Gabrielle plans to attend the University of Michigan and will be a member of the Michigan Dance Team. She is hoping to study either business or biology.

Emily Grobbel
Parents: Ann and Brian Grobbel
Activities and Awards: Emily was part of the National Honor Society, was a National Merit Finalist, and won the Mckesson Scholarship. She was also an AP Scholar. Emily was also part of the University of Michigan's Piano Pedagogy Laboratory Program and has been the school choir's accompanist all four years of high school. She has volunteered her time tutoring at a nearby church.
Plans After Graduation: Emily will be attending Michigan State University, majoring in Nursing, with piano on the side.

Ellery Sarosi
Parents: Dr. Michael Sarosi and Mrs. Kimm Sarosi
Activities and Awards: Ellery took many AP and Honors courses, and was recognized with High Honors each year of high school. She was a member of the National Honors Society and the Pro-Life Club, and was a Kairos retreat leader. Ellery was on FGR's Soccer team, and was a captain her senior year. She also plays ice hockey and finished third in the nation this year with her club team.
Plans After Graduation: Ellery will attend Wesleyan University in Conneticut next year, and will possibly major in Biology. She will play ice hockey for Wesleyan.

Miranda Sauter
Parents: Margie and Dave Sauter
Activities and Awards: Miranda was a member of the National Honor Society, and she was co-president of the Creative Writing Club. She earned the honor of AP Scholar and was highly involved with volunteering at her church.
Plans After Graduation: Miranda will be attending Michigan Technological University, majoring in biological sciences.

Anjali Sood
Parents: Manak and Lucienne Sood
Activities and Awards: Anjali was a member of the National Honors Society and a Scholar-Athlete Finalist. A varsity singles tennis player through out high school, Anjali won numerous titles including being named to the All-State Team her junior year. Anjali also served as Team Captain her junior and senior year. Additionally Anjali volunteers at Clare Bridge.
Plans After Graduation: Anjali will be attending The University of Michigan.
