Fire damages Ann Arbor home, displaces 3 residents

By Cindy Heflin

A fire displaced three people and damaged the second story of a home in the 300 block of North Seventh Street in Ann Arbor Sunday night.

Firefighters were called to the home at 10:24 p.m. Sunday and found fire in an upstairs bedroom in the two-story home. They had extinguished the blaze within 10 minutes, according to a press release from the fire department. No one was injured.

The Washtenaw-Lenawee Chapter of the American Red Cross provided lodging to the residents, the agency said in a press release.

The cause is under investigation, firefighters said.

Five fire engines and one ladder truck responded to the fire. Ann Arbor police and Huron Valley Ambulance paramedics also responded.

I was actually wondering what was going on...I tried listening to the police scanner after seeing so many emergency vehicles passing my house by just at the corner of Huron and Seventh. Could not pick up on anything. But when I saw a truck coming back I knew it must not be as bad as it seemed. Kind of concerns me when I see that many emergency responders!
