Ann Arbor fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire that damaged a home Sunday night in the 400 block of Pinewood Street.

The fire broke out about 7:58 p.m. and damaged the outside of the back of the house before being extinguished by residents in the area, fire officials said.

Total damage was estimated at $2,000.
