Fire destroys unfinished home in Superior Township
A house under construction was destroyed by an overnight fire in Superior Township.
Township firefighters got the alarm at about 3:20 a.m. today and found the house in the 5900 block of Cherry Hill Road engulfed in flames when they arrived.
"The roof was already collapsed when we got there," said firefighter Lance Pierce. "It eventually all caved in."
About a dozen firefighters battled the blaze. Ann Arbor Township and Salem Township fire departments assisted.
The cause of the fire hasn't been determined, but remains under investigation. Pierce said firefighters have not determined how far along the house was in construction.
