By AnnArbor.com Staff

The rainy weather combined with the Friday exodus from work has resulted in numerous accidents around the county, including one car fire, according to Washtenaw County dispatch.

Police and fire units responded to a 4:27 p.m. call for a car fire on westbound M-14 just west of Nixon Road. When Michigan State Police arrived, the car was in the roadway and fully engulfed in flames, the county dispatcher said. No one was in the car at the time, and no one was injured. By 5 p.m., the fire was extinguished, and the car was cleared from the freeway.

Also at 5 p.m., state police were simultaneously on the scene of eight different accidents around the county. The accidents, which slowed traffic, were not serious, according to dispatch, and no one was injured.
