Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire Thursday that seriously damaged a home on Stephens Drive in Superior Township, Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies said.

No one was home during the 2 a.m. blaze in the road's 1500 block, a sheriff's department incident summary said.

Superior Township firefighters quickly extinguished the fire after finding the home engulfed in flames, according to the summary.
