In order to open a night deposit box it takes a key, the fisherman (or Woman) must be a customer of the bank.

Do you need a valid Michigan Fishing license? What are the size limits?

They forgot to mention whether it was a fish hook or a wad of gum on the end?

I don't see what is so strange about this. I always keep my lucky line and lure in my safe deposit box. Some day I'll be able to afford a box large enough for the rod and reel.

I'm more concerned about ATM skimmers as those are becoming harder and harder to detect.

"The line was put in the box"...the line wasn't put in the box. The crook lost the line in the box, most likely when trying to pull a bag up out of it. The crook wasn't/isn't very smart. There are teeth in those boxes that prevent something from being pulled up out of them.

I think the crooks have been watching too many cartoons.

Sounds like the crooks are getting creative! They should instead run for Congress where stealing is legal.
