Fishing line found in night deposit box at Ann Arbor bank

Ann Arbor police are investigating after a fishing line and hook were found in a night deposit box at a bank in the 100 block of North Maple Road.

The line was put in the box on Tuesday between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., police said. A bank manager reported the incident to police.

In order to open a night deposit box it takes a key, the fisherman (or Woman) must be a customer of the bank.

I don't see what is so strange about this. I always keep my lucky line and lure in my safe deposit box. Some day I'll be able to afford a box large enough for the rod and reel.

I'm more concerned about ATM skimmers as those are becoming harder and harder to detect.

"The line was put in the box"...the line wasn't put in the box. The crook lost the line in the box, most likely when trying to pull a bag up out of it. The crook wasn't/isn't very smart. There are teeth in those boxes that prevent something from being pulled up out of them.

Sounds like the crooks are getting creative! They should instead run for Congress where stealing is legal.
