Flash flood watch issued for Washtenaw County; 1-3 inches of rain expected
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for Washtenaw County due expected heavy rainfall Thursday and Thursday night.
The weather service says two storms are expected to move through in the morning and evening, dumping 1 to 3 inches of rain on the region.
The flood watch is in effect from Thursday morning through late Thursday night in several counties, including Washtenaw and Livingston.
Meteorologists warn it's possible rain will move through the same area repeatedly, leading to flooding - especially in rivers and streams.
Dylan Boyd, 8, entertains himself in a large puddle with his umbrella while he waits under the stands during a rain delay at Saline's home track meet against Pioneer on Tuesday. Forecasters say more rain is on the way Thursday.
