The 2012 Rockin' For The Hungry food drive is entering its final day Sunday. Since Wednesday, Food Gatherers volunteers have collected more than 100 tons of food and financial donations from donors to help serve those in need in Washtenaw County.
Numerous volunteers have shown up to lend a hand with the food drive over the past few days despite the rain and brisk temperatures. With the help of large and small donations, the goal of 200 tons is in sight. Suggested donation items for those of you heading to the store today include items such canned soups, beans, baking mixes, pasta and peanut butter.
You can track the donations here on AnnArbor.com as they are reported in by the volunteers on site at the Kroger on S. Maple Road where AnnArbor's 107one will continue to host their live broadcast between 11 a.m and 4 p.m.
Financial and non-perishable food donations will continue to be accepted at all Washtenaw County Kroger locations throughout the day, including the Plymouth Road store where an additional remote live broadcast will be taking place from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
