The effort also is a partnership with the Detroit Lions - and donors can get a free team-themed t-shirt, according to organizers.

From today through Dec. 31, donors who bring in 10 cans or non-perishable food items to a Ford dealership in Washtenaw County or other southeast Michigan locations will get a "Made in Detroit" t-shirt.

The shirts are one per customer while supplies last.

Gleaners is a wonderful organization, but if you live in Washtenaw County, please give to our local orgaization, Food Gatherers. They supply over 150 food pantries in this county and desperately need funds to carry out their wonderful work. Thank you.
