whatever the reason for A2 being highest, you can bet it's not a tax to repair the Stadium Bridge!

I believe there is more to the story of why A2 has the highest gas prices. Come on Ann Arbor.com, this could be an interesting investigative story if you give it to one of your higher quality reporters.

I was in Toledo a week ago Sunday and paid $2.45 for gas. How's that for a Michigan screw job?

Given that (a) the prices in Ann Arbor are ALWAYS the highest in the state, and (b) the difference between the highest and lowest is a spread of maybe 8 to 10 cents, I have to ask: why is it worth putting in the headline that "Ann Arbor has state's highest prices"? As for WHY they are the highest: well, duh, Ann Arbor has the highest employment in the state. Higher employment => people can buy stuff => businesses make money => commercial real estate is more expensive => prices are (very modestly) higher. I think they used to call that the "free market" system, didn't they?

@JimB my guess would be its because A2 taxes are so high
