Goodband Road in Lyndon Township, Six Mile Road in Northfield Township reopened following flooding

By Lisa Allmendinger

Following last week’s severe flooding, the Washtenaw County Road Commission has reopened two closed county roads, one in Lyndon Township and the other in Northfield Township.

Goodband Road between North Lake Road and Bartell Road in Lyndon Township was opened to motorists this morning.

Six Mile Road between Main Street and Nollar Road in Northfield Township, which was closed due to flooding and road washout, was reopened Sunday afternoon following repairs.

Main Street runs right past Horseshoe Lake, and Six Mile Road isn't too far away from that lake either; Ideal Place is the name of the residential road closest to Six Mile, but it was Shady Beach Drive residents who got the most attention from the Horseshoe Lake flooding last Friday. Road washout for a paved road like Six Mile? Hopefully the underground gasoline tanks for that fuel station east of US-23 and on the south side of Six Mile are all right after what just happened.
