Neutral Zone awarded $5K grant for youth artist project
The Neutral Zone, Ann Arbor’s teen center, was awarded a $5,000 grant by the Ann Arbor Downtown Development Authority, according to a WEMU News report.
According to WEMU News, the grant will provide stipends for young artists to paint murals on Ann Arbor railroad property on the western edge of downtown.
The artists involved in the project went through an application process and will be required to submit a proposal before work begins.

A "grant" from skimmed tax dollars. Don't get me wrong, but how does giving money to Neutral Zone promote "downtown development"? Answer: it doesn't. We don't need a separate downtown government. We already have an elected one.
