Gunman robs Subway restaurant in Ypsilanti Township
A gunman robbed the Subway restaurant in the 2100 block of Whittaker Road in Ypsilanti Township Tuesday night, police said.
The gunman brandished a chrome handgun and demanded cash from the register and the safe about 9 p.m., a daily incident summary from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department said.
A restaurant employee put an undisclosed amount of cash in a blue bag the suspect had with him. The robber fled south from the restaurant on foot and may have gotten into a white Dodge Intrepid, the summary said.
The suspect is a white man in his 20s about 5 feet 8 inches tall and with a slim build. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, thick blue knit gloves, a knit hat and a white scarf/bandana over his face.
