That could be about Michigan's emergency manager law, the financial situation in Detroit, a proposal to phase out the state's personal property tax, transportation legislation pending in the state Legislature or any other topic that comes to mind.

Questions can be submitted right now by visiting www.michigan.gov/townhall.

Snyder's office also will be accepting questions by telephone at 517-335-7858 or on Twitter by sending a message to @onetoughnerd using the hashtag #AskGovSnyder.

The event will be streamed live Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. via the governor's interactive LiveStream account at http://www.livestream.com/snyderlive.

At a conference on Monday, Snyder called for more urgent action to tackle the problems facing Detroit, saying that inaction only hurts Detroiters. The governor made his comments as the City Council begins its budget process and must adhere to requirements of a consent agreement the state forced the city to sign to avoid an emergency manager.
