Heat advisory issued for Ann Arbor area today
Slather on the sunscreen and head for the pool. Or find a nice cool spot indoors. It's going to be a hot one.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory effective from noon to 8 p.m. today for the Ann Arbor area. The heat index could rise into the upper 90s by this afternoon, putting people prone to heat stress at risk.

If you have to be outside, drink plenty of fluids and stay out of direct sunlight if possible. Check on relatives and neighbors who may be vulnerable, the weather service advised. Do not leave children and pets unattended in vehicles.
The forecast calls for a high of 89 to 93 in the Ann Arbor area today. It will be mostly cloudy during the evening and mostly clear overnight. Showers and thunderstorms are likely this evening with lows of 61 to 65. Chance of rain is 60 percent.
Wednesday will be mostly sunny and cooler with a high around 80.

If we do reach 90 today, we that will mean we will have had a high in the 50's last Friday , 60's Saturday, 70's on Sunday, 80's yesterday, and 90's today. That's quite a sequence.
