Higher fees and more classes, marketing floated as ideas to save Mack Pool
Offering more classes, holding fundraisers, expanding hours and raising fees were among the suggestions made to boost Mack Pool's revenue, The Ann Arbor Chronicle reported, during a public meeting on the pool's fate held Thursday.
Earlier this year, closing Mack Pool was floated as an idea to help balance the city of Ann Arbor's budget. The pool operates at a deficit of $100,000 between the revenue it takes in and what it costs to maintain and run the pool annually. Thursday's meeting was meant to generate ideas on how to make up that difference. The Mack Pool Task Force hosted the meeting.
